happy friday gang 👋🏼 the sun has been shining all week, and it is bringing me so much joy (I might even have to get my sandals out at this rate!)
I had a brilliant weekend by the North Yorkshire coast last weekend, and it felt like my first proper adventure in a while. We mooched, we swam, we sauna’d, we walked to gorgeous view points and we had a brilliant weekend.
It’s also given me a new lease of life and this week I’ve felt so much brighter, more energised and just loving life tbh.
Finn’s PUPdate : we’re t-minus 3 days until we can start taking Finn out for walks, and I cannot wait. We’ve carried him to a few cafes for socialisation and he’s loved it, and he has a lot of energy that he’s definitely ready to run off on the walks. This weeks picture of him makes him look calm and angelic, which he has moments of for sure, but as I’m writing this, hes currently running circles around the kitchen table and out of the back door, with his toy flying around. Zoomie time for sure!
R - I’m still reading the same book as last week, however I’ve been reading lots of substacks this week, and loved
this one from Luisa about the overwhelming feeling of wanting to do everything, but ending up doing nothing. It’s a really insightful read!
E - gang, I have eaten so much good food this week. I made this gorgeous french onion soup at the beginning of the week, and I think it’s going to become a staple in my recipe rotation!
Whilst I was away, we ate at two brill places; Humble Pie ‘n’ Mash in Whitby, which does the best pies, and Cod and Lobster in Staithes, where I had an out of this world seafood kebab.
P - We played the board game Ticket to Ride whilst we were away, and I am obsessed and have it saved in my amazon basket to get my own version. The aim is to get the longest route, and the most routes across the board and it’s so much fun, and I’m excited for the next time we can play it!
O - Iced coffee season is officially here, and I’m obsessed. We got a new coffee machine at Christmas, and it was only recently I realised I can make my own iced coffees at home. Coffee beans I’m loving at the moment; Fika Coffee, Durham Coffee and Carrington’s Coffee Co
R - I tried my first ever sauna and sea dip, and loved it. I’m now recommending it to everyone. I was worried about whether I would like it. Having an ileostomy means I get dehydrated easily, and I was worried about the heat and my stoma bag becoming loose. I had no issues with my bag, and I made sure to have hydration sachets before and after the session, and a big bottle of water that I drank from as I went for my sea dip. Safe to say, I’ll be trying it again!
T - Victoria from The Manifestation Collective has been a friend for a long time, and she launched her new card deck this week. As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to treat myself to this gorgoeus deck, filled with daily doses of magic - from journal prompts to guided meditations. If you don’t follow Vic, I really recommend you do because she’s just the loveliest human!
