i can’t get over just how cold it’s been this week!! I’m currently writing this with a cup of (decaf) pumpkin spiced tea and a blanket and just trying to feel cosy and warm. I feel like with this dramatic weather change, it’s time to start embracing cosy season rather than fight against it.
I’m getting excited for autumnal microadventures; wrapping up warm for walks, seeing the colours change, pumpkin picking, stargazing. I’m also excited for cinema trips, watching cosy autumnal and spooky tv shows, baking, yin yoga, and lots of hot chocolates! some of my favourite cosy season shows to watch at this time of year are; gilmore girls, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Vampire Diaries, the good witch, charmed…i just love these types of shows!
this weekend I’m off on a little staycation to the cumbrian coast, and I’m so excited for a few days by the sea! So before I head off to start packing, here’s this weeks review…
R - this week has been a big book week as I had three books I’d preordered arrive (including Jacqueline Wilson!!!), and I also had a book voucher to spend which I’d got for my birthday. but the book I’ve been reading this week is The Hotel Avocado by Bob Mortimor and it is brilliant. Last year, I read his first book, The Satsuma Complex, and the sequel is just as good! Can definitely recommend
E - I’m basic and love all things pumpkin spiced and this week I tried the Gregg’s Pumpkin Spiced donut and it’s a big recommend (also, if you’re on a Monzo Perks Plan, it’s included in your free weekly Greggs treat!).
P - there’s two things I need to share with you that I’ve watched this week. The first, I’m watching right now, and it’s The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives on Disney + and Hulu and like the rest of the internet I’m obsessed. If you love reality TV, then this is the show for you! The second thing I really recommend watching is Kara and Nate’s latest video (which is really a documentary!) all about Nate attempting to run the Leadville100 for the first time, which is an ultra marathon in Colorado. It’s an incredible watch, and even if you have 0 interest in ultra marathons, you will still get a lot out of this.
O - I’m low key obsessed with different flavours of teas, and recently started ordering from Bird and Blend Tea. I’ve just opened the Baby Spice tea, which is a decaf autumnal chai, which has sweet & spiced flavours of cinnamon, ginger, pumpkin & apple. It’s oh so autumnal and perfect for warming up on a cold day!
R - if you too are on the leopard print trend, and recently saw those M&S wide leg leopard print jeans which sold out instantly, then I have an alternative for you. I actually found a brilliant dupe from Primark, and I can confirm I will be wearing them at every single occasion this season!
T - on Sunday, I went to a gorgeous yin yoga and brunch morning and it was such a treat! It was the most relaxing morning (especially after spending Friday evening and Saturday at Radio2 in the Park!) and it was perfect!
I’d love love love for you to join the thread above and share your microadventure plans for this month 🍂
I’d love to hear what your highlights have been this week! Have you had any good adventures, read any good books and substacks, tried any cute cafes? Share in the comments!!
See you next week

Gilmore Girls and Good Witch are my autumn must-sees!! And I absolutely love Kara and Nate - been following them for years! Enjoy getting all cozy - and happy autumn!
Enjoy Cumbria, such a beautiful part of the country. Can’t believe how much the weather and temperatures have changed this past week. Truly autumn now!
