good morning gang 👋🏼 how has your week been?
If I’m being honest with you, the overarching feeling of my week (and the last few months tbh) is overwhelming. Everything feels slightly chaotic, there’s no routine, and my mind is pinging with 1000 ideas, but I’m not sure what quite to do with them.
One thing that does bring me calm though is my microadventures, and I’m writing this before heading off to my friends for the weekend where we’re having our annual Christmas crafts and film weekend!
Two microadventures I’ve had since I last wrote a weekly review was a trip to the cinema to see Paddington 3 (which was brilliant and magical!), and I went to Liverpool to catch up with a pal. The trip included having an incredible Sunday dinner at Bam Boo - it was a sharing sunday dinner board and I can’t explain just how good it was! So full of flavour, so many sides, and incredible service.
I’d love to hear what microadventures you’ve had this week in the comments 🩷
R - After loving reading The Pumpkin Spiced Cafe, I picked up book 2, The Cinnamon Bun Book Shop. If I’m honest, I didn’t love it. I thought it was going to be all autumnal, but it’s actually set in the summer - so that really threw me off! These are pretty cringy books, but this just felt more cringy than it needed to be - and it was just so obvious. Will I pick up the Christmas book in the series? Probably, because I still love a cheesy Christmas rom-com feel book!
E - I’ve already alluded to this in my intro, but I had the most incredible Sunday dinner at Bam Boo in Liverpool. We had the Chicken sharing board which came with; basically a whole chicken, roasties, pigs in blankets, red cabbage, broccoli, sweet potato mash, stuffing balls, cauliflower cheese and a red jus gravy. I’m pretty picky about my sunday dinners, but this was stunning. It was so flavoursome, you couldn’t stop eating even when you were full! Another thing to note is just how good the staff are. We were one of the last bookings of the day, and didn’t feel rushed at all, they were so friendly and the overall vibe was so fun.
P - I’ll be honest, I’ve spent the whole week glued to BBC Radio 2, following Paddy McGuinness’s Children in Need Ultra Endurance Bike Challenge. He’s been riding a chopper bike (!!) from Wrexham to Glasgow which is almost 300 miles! On Wednesday, he actually rode through a town near where I live, so we went out to cheer him on, donate some money, and give him a high five! It’s been such an emotional listen, and as I’m writing this, I’m listening to his final morning cycling. He’s already raised over £7million, and you can find out more and donate here.
O - We’re currently at the we have no kitchen stage of the renovation, which is the perfect excuse for upgrading our air fryer! Ninja Kitchen currently have their black Friday deals on, so we got the Ninja Foodi Dual Zone Airfryer, and I’m obsessed. It’s so easy to use, and I’ve already made so many recipes (a fave being halloumi fajita’s!).
R - I finally finished watching Agatha All Along on Disney+ and I know I’m very late to the party but what a great show!! Definitely a recommended watch!
T - It was a real treat to head to the cinema to see Paddington 3 this week. It’s such a lovely and wholesome film, and I just love this franchise! Cinema snacks are a must, and I got a bag of magic stars and they were just so so so so good 😍 what are your go to cinema snacks??
