Hello hello hello 👋🏼 somehow May has come and gone and we’re almost halfway through 2025, and I really don’t know where the time has gone.
May has been a month where I truly feel like I’ve got my microadventure spark back. I’ve been wild swimming, kayaking, bike riding, and really leant into saying yes to as much as possible. It’s also been a month of travels (a trip to Scotland and to Benidorm), and seeing my friends - a perfect blend for me!
I’ve also been reflecting on why I’ve found life feels good again. And I truly think that it’s to do with the year starting out in a blur of flare ups, pain and medication. I started the year pretty low, and I’ll be honest, I’ve just felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude whenever I’ve been able to do something. The amount of times I’ve caught myself going well three months ago, I could hardly walk, isn’t it insane that I’m now on this adventure. I’ve stopped taking things for granted, and I think it’s meant I’ve got even more out of a microadventure.
Okay, now it’s time to get onto the weekly monthly report. I can’t believe it’s over a month since I sat and wrote a weekly report, so this weeks is going to be a bumper one to catch up!
R - I’ve officially entered my fantasy era! I’ve started reading the Fourth Wing series and I’m hooked. I’m about two thirds of the way through Iron Flame at the moment and can’t put it down. (fellow fantasy readers, what do I read after this series?? hit me with your recs)
Non-fiction wise, I’ve just finished reading Manifesto by Candice Braithwaite and I loved it. It’s a really practical look at manifestation, and how it can change your life, and is the perfect blend of woo and reality.
E - I went to Benidorm two weeks ago on a press trip and ate some incredible food. One thing I’ve not been able to stop thinking about is the Marinated red tuna tataki with citrus and orange peel, truffle, roasted cherry tomato and ponzu I ate. I don’t usually like Tuna, but this was out of this world. The temptation to buy a plane ticket and go for the day just for this is real.
P - I’ve been a member of The Manifestation Collective for a while now, and I’ve recently been going through the meditations and subliminals that are included and loving them. I’ve found it a really accessible way to start meditating more and already feeling the benefit of it as well!
TV & Film wise - I’ve been hooked on Race Across The World! I think it’s one of my favourite series of it that there’s been, and each couple is bringing something different and it’s so enjoyable. I was with my friend Gabby this weekend, and we rewatched the Hannah Montana Movie (which, side note, is the perfect way to spend a Saturday night!) and the nostalgia is real. I’ve also really enjoyed watching the latest season of Below Deck Down Under (and very excited for the new season of Below Deck to start!)
O - it’s no secret that I love a good coffee. And I’ve spent the last two months in a battle with an amazon seller trying to send back the grinder I bought because it was faulty. But finally, I have a new one - the Sage Smart Grinder Pro - and I love it! Honestly such a fan (and it worked perfectly as soon as I used it!)
R - It’s a big recommendation here, but Benidorm is this weeks rec. I was skeptical about whether I’d like Benidorm, but after spending 3 days here, I was really surprised at how beautiful this city is. I had three days of adventures, incredibly good food, and just a brilliant time. So take this as your sign to a) visit Benidorm and b) try somewhere new that you wouldn’t necessarily think about visiting.
T - I’ve treated myself by getting back into journaling. Last year, I got a Traveller’s Notebook for my birthday and loved it. However I’ve hardly used it, so whilst I was in Scotland, I gave daily art journaling a go and it was such a treat!
